Sean scored an impressive 579 runs which included two hundreds. A great effort by Sean in his first full year opening the batting for the 1st team and hopefully more runs next year!</P>
<P editor_id="mce_editor_0"><STRONG>The 1st XI have also won the Laurie Cheesman trophy for 2007</STRONG>. This award is voted for by the clubs in the 3rd Division and we achieved the highest number of votes for facilities, ground, wicket and sportsmanship (home and away). </P>
<P>I understand that this is the first time that we have won this trophy and it's great recognition for the club.</P>

If you are not playing please come down to show your support and the bar will be open. The game starts at 1.30pm.</p><p><strike>Sunday - home to Worthing Chippingdale - 2.00pm</strike>. <span class="sizeGreater20"><strong>Game now off</strong></span></p><p>Monday - home to Arun Wanderers starting at 2.30pm.<strong>Game is on - just!</strong></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;With Sunday's game now off bar revenue will be down, please come down the club Saturday and Monday.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Please note the 2nd XI game away to Arundel has been cancelled</strong>.</p>]]></description><wfw:commentRss>http://www.epcricket.org.uk/journal/rss-comments-entry-1214906.xml</wfw:commentRss></item><item><title>New League Structure for 2008</title><dc:creator>Lockie</dc:creator><pubDate>Fri, 10 Aug 2007 12:49:21 +0000</pubDate><link>http://www.epcricket.org.uk/journal/new-league-structure-for-2008.html</link><guid isPermaLink="false">117033:1045652:1199374</guid><description><![CDATA[<p>The league structure for 2008 has finally been confirmed at a meeting earlier this week where Colin attended on behalf of EP.</p><p>The structure is as follows:</p><p>There will be 22 member clubs each having a 1st team and a 2nd team (West Chiltington will join in 2008).</p><p>There will be 2 divisions of 11 sides for 1st XI's and 2nd XI's</p><p>Each team will play 16 games, playing 6 teams twice and 4 teams only once.</p><p>It is likely that the above format will only be for 2008 and it's hoped that more clubs will join to enable a 3 division league in 2009.It's not an ideal situation next year but at least league cricket will take place, the league will decide on which teams we only play once by the free dates requested by the clubs in 2008.</p><p>The 1st XI need to finish in the top 6 of their current division ( division 3 2007) to play in division 1 in 2008.
